How much does a photographer for a corporate event cost?

← Back to the blog

Hiring a photographer for a corporate event costs around €750 on average. According to the platform Zaask, typical prices range from €150 to €1,900. What moves the figure most is the number of hours worked at the event itself. In Barcelona, the rate is usually between €50 and €150 an hour, and most photographers charge a minimum of 2 hours even if the event is shorter. For a simple event, with one photographer and one camera, a common rate starts at €190 plus VAT for the first hour and €60 for each additional hour. If the event lasts half a day or a full day, the price is adjusted. When it runs over several days or needs more than one photographer or videographer, quotes start at €3,000. A full day for €400 usually means basic coverage, with minimal retouching and no delivery guarantees.

What pushes the price up or down

Almost everything that changes the price pushes it up, and the first thing is the hours. The more hours on site, the higher the bill. The number of attendees also matters. An event with hundreds or thousands of people needs more staff and equipment, and more time to capture the key moments. At Barcelona's large conferences, such as those at Fira Gran Via, the CCIB or Montjuïc, the price depends on three things. The first is how many days need covering. The second is whether there are simultaneous rooms or talks that require more than one photographer working at the same time. The third is whether the photos have to be delivered urgently to the press and social media during the event itself. A second photographer makes the service more expensive, although they usually charge somewhat less per hour because they work under the direction of the first. So the total goes up, but it does not usually double. Equipment counts too. Lights, flashes or a drone increase the price, even more so if they have to be hired. Travel is usually included within the photographer's own city, but is charged separately if the venue is far away or remote. In expensive cities, such as Barcelona, Madrid or San Sebastián, rates tend to be higher. Some professionals raise their hourly rate slightly at weekends and on bank holidays. Adding video means hiring another professional, because whoever takes the photos cannot film at the same time. Few things make the service cheaper. The clearest are a small, short event, or a date and time with low demand, which is often possible with corporate events.

When to ask for quotes and what to compare

The most practical approach is to start asking for quotes 4 to 8 weeks before the event. It helps to have already decided the date, the timings, the venue, the approximate number of attendees, how many rooms will be running at once, whether video is needed and when the images must be ready. With that information you can compare several proposals fairly. In each one, look at how many hours it covers, how much retouching it includes, the delivery time and whether travel is charged separately. It is also worth checking the payment terms, because some photographers ask for a 50% deposit to secure the date.
