How much does a wedding photographer cost in Asturias

← Blog

A wedding photographer in Asturias usually sits inside the same ranges you see across Spain: the quotes couples are given run from around €800 to over €5,000, and the average price for a wedding photographer falls between €850 and €1,200. Some services advertise from €350 and go up to €2,500 for the coverage.

That very wide spread is not a mistake: it follows from the photographer's experience, how they work, and how much is actually handed over. Asking what a wedding photographer costs is one of the most common questions for couples planning a wedding in Asturias, and the honest answer starts with understanding what sits inside each figure.

What changes the price

The first thing that moves the price is experience. A photographer with eighty weddings behind them does not improvise when it rains, when the ceremony runs late, or when ten important moments are happening at once, and that gets paid for. Demand counts too: the better known a photographer is, the more they charge.

Then there is scope. The price of a wedding photographer is not just taking photographs on the day, and it is always worth asking what is left out: a second photographer, the pre-wedding shoot, a printed album, paper prints, video, meals, and travel outside the usual area. Every one of those adds to the bill.

The date is another lever. High season runs May to October, and the most sought-after photographers close their diary twelve or eighteen months ahead. A wedding in January or February will probably get a better price, and in winter three or four months' notice is enough. Worth remembering: when a photographer charges €2,000 for a wedding, what is actually left after costs, tax and replacing equipment is likely less than half.

What to do next

The next step is simple: fix the date and ask for quotes early. In Spain the advice is to book between nine and twelve months before the wedding, and further ahead if the date falls in high season. When you ask for each quote, ask exactly what is included and what is not, because that is where the real difference between two similar-looking figures sits.

What this business has actually seen

One of these weddings was at the Palacio de la Concepción, at Camino de Quintueles 50, in Gijón. The couple had everything in one place: the ceremony outside in daylight, the drinks and the gardens afterwards, and the meal indoors. I covered the whole day, start to finish.

€1,200

This couple paid €1,080 with a discount. They found me on bodas.net and the first thing they saw was the price. Nothing about it surprised them, and they never asked me to lower it.

They booked three months before the wedding, not twelve. That goes against the general advice in this same article, and I am telling you anyway: in Asturias there are still free dates three months out, especially if the wedding is not in the middle of August. If yours is closer than you would like, ask all the same. The answer may well be yes.
