The price of a wedding photographer in Asturias goes up when the job needs more people, more kilometres or more work after the wedding day. It comes down when any of those parts is left out. The final amount depends on how much of that is included in the deal. When comparing quotes, bear in mind that two identical figures can correspond to very different jobs. That is why it is worth checking first what each proposal includes and leaving the total until last. If a figure looks low, it is almost always because something is missing from the list. If it looks high, it usually means there is an added part that the other proposals do not have.
What you are actually paying for
A wedding photographer does not charge only for the wedding day. There is the day itself. Then comes the work at home, when they spend days choosing images and adjusting the colour of each one. And finally there is the way the photos reach the couple. Each part costs money, and each quote divides it up in its own way.
The second photographer
The second photographer is the clearest example. With two people, the bride can be photographed getting ready in one house and the groom in another at the same time. With just one, one of the two scenes is lost. You can see straight away in the quote whether it is there or not.
Travel and expenses
Kilometres count in Asturias, where the wedding may take place far from where the photographer works. Outside their usual area, travel and subsistence costs are usually charged separately, and the quote should say whether they are already added in or not.
Editing time
Editing does not appear as a figure, but it shows in the photos. If a proposal says how many images are delivered and within what timeframe, you can work out the amount of work behind it.
How the photos are delivered
A USB stick does not cost the same as a handcrafted album printed on photographic paper. What is more, the album is not usually included unless it is expressly named.
One wedding a day
Some photographers only do one wedding a day. That date is then closed to any other booking, and that is also reflected in the price.
How to compare quotes
The next step is to ask two or three photographers for a written quote, with each part listed separately. If one covers more hours than another, that already explains part of the difference in price. When one proposal includes something another does not mention, ask about that gap directly. The same goes for delivery: how many photos, in what format and how they are accessed. With those answers, the total amount makes more sense. It is also worth looking at full wedding galleries from each photographer beforehand, to check whether their style suits the wedding being planned.
