Corporate event photographer in Asturias: what's included and how much it costs

← Back to the blog

A corporate event photographer in Asturias covers the event in person and photographs what the company needs to show: professional portraits, of individuals or the team; workspaces and offices; processes and teams in action; and the products, details and atmosphere of the event. The price is not a fixed figure. It depends mainly on the hours the professional spends at the event. The type of event, travel, the equipment needed and whether one person or two are working also count.

How the price is calculated

The most common way to quote is by hours of on-site work. Compared with what other trades charge, the hourly rate may seem high. Bear in mind that only the hours the photographer is at the event are included in the quote. There is often a minimum fee that includes travel, use of the equipment and one or two hours of on-site work. Some professionals charge for a set number of photos instead of by the hour. For a company, a per-project price usually works out cheaper when the job is clearly defined: individual portraits, a team session or a specific corporate event. Whatever the pricing model, the type of event and the total number of hours are still what affect the price most.

Travel

Travel may or may not be included. It is normally included if the event takes place in the same city or town where the professional lives. If the venue is remote or a long way away, travel is usually charged separately. When there are two venues far apart from each other, that journey usually appears in the quote or raises the hourly rate. Rates also vary with the cost of living in the area where the event is held.

A second person and equipment

A second team member makes the service more expensive. They are generally already part of the photography team and do not need to be hired separately, although having them there increases the final cost. Some companies ask for a second person even for small events, because it means photos are taken from two viewpoints at once. Equipment also plays a part: cameras, different lenses, lights and anything else the event calls for, such as cameras for specific visual effects or even drones.

Services that can be added

Some services can be added. The person taking the photos cannot film at the same time, but many photographers work with video professionals who handle the filming. A photo booth can be hired from €200 per hour if it includes a support person and an internet connection so the images can be viewed instantly. Sessions held at a different time from the event are usually charged by the number of photos or as extra hours. For comparison with a different kind of shoot: at a wedding, photographing the ceremony preparations and the couple getting ready can cost an extra €300, and the party after the reception around €150.

What companies ask for today

What many companies ask for today also shapes the job. There is demand for 'lifestyle' photography, which shows work as it happens day to day. Companies also ask for images that convey their values, photos designed for social media and photography that reflects social responsibility. Video is more and more common: 86% of companies use it in their marketing. That is why more and more jobs combine photos and video.

Before asking for a quote

The most useful thing to do now is to write down the event details before asking for a quote: what type of event it is, exactly where in Asturias it takes place, how many hours it lasts and what needs to be photographed (people, offices, processes or product). It is also worth noting whether you will need video, a second person or a photo booth. With that list, the next step is to ask each professional whether they charge by the hour, by the photo or by the project, and whether travel is included. That way, two or three quotes can be compared on the same basis.
