The photos on this page are from other weddings of ours (Alicante, Luanco), not from Palacio de Cutre.
The Palacio de Cutre is an Asturian manor house that hosts weddings and events. It stands on an 18,000-square-metre estate, with more than 3,000 square metres of gardens around the main house. In summer 2022 the palace opened a space solely for weddings and events inside a medieval wall, with views of the Picos de Europa. According to the palace itself, all the guests fit in a single area in that space. Its listing on Bodas.net, a wedding directory whose details are best confirmed with the palace, shows weddings of 100 to 300 guests, with the ceremony and reception in the same place and only one event per day. That listing places it between the sea and the Picos de Europa, deep in the mountains and in the countryside.
Location and getting there
The pages consulted do not give a full postal address. The Vivir Asturias directory places the palace in La Goleta, in Miyares, within the municipality of Piloña, in eastern Asturias. It is the only source that gives this detail, so it is worth asking the palace for the exact address before sending out the invitations. Nor do those pages say how many kilometres or minutes it is from Oviedo, Gijón, Avilés or Asturias Airport. That information can be taken from a map once the address is confirmed, or requested directly from the palace. For guests, Bodas.net lists transport and minibus and coach hire among the palace's services. You will need to confirm on your visit whether the palace organises it, which routes it covers and how much it costs. It is useful to know early if many guests are coming from outside Asturias and do not plan to drive on mountain roads at night.
Ceremony, drinks reception and meal
For the ceremony, the Bodas.net advert mentions a 16th-century chapel with room for up to 100 people and a separate space for the civil ceremony. These are details to check with the palace. The wall, however, is confirmed by both sources: the palace's website calls it medieval, and Bodas.net says the building dates from the 16th century and has a wall, tower and chapel from that period. For the drinks reception, the pages do not say which area it is served in. The spaces listed on Bodas.net include the terrace, the garden area and a marquee, so it is a good question for the visit. For the reception meal, according to the same advert, the palace has several halls for meals of up to 100 diners each and takes up to 300 people in total. With 35 diners at most, the separate hall is for small groups. The listing also mentions a dance area and a lounge. The most reliable figure for a large wedding is the palace's own: its 2022 space was designed to seat all the guests together. Bodas.net sets a minimum of 100 guests for the reception meal and a maximum of 300.
Menus, catering and prices
In the Bodas.net listing, the palace appears with its own kitchen and also with catering, and the space can be hired on its own without the food. If an outside caterer is brought in, the same listing mentions a kitchen for their use. The menu can be changed, and there are versions for vegetarian, vegan, diabetic, hypertensive, allergic and coeliac guests. The cooking is described as market-based, traditional Asturian, signature, international and fusion. For 2025 there are seven wedding menus named after trees: Los Robles, Los Manzanos, Los Castaños, Los Laureles, Los Guindales, Los Avellanos and Los Cerezos. Prices range from 150 to 350 euros per guest, although these figures are published by the directory, not by the palace. It also states that the palace serves the cake, that you can bring one from outside at no extra charge and that the party has no finishing time. According to the advert, there is no fixed fee for the venue, payment is made in advance according to the contract and cards are accepted. The listing asks how the open bar is booked and what is charged if the minimum number of guests is not reached, but the text consulted does not give the answers.
Accommodation and facilities
The palace's website offers guests accommodation over the wedding weekend at special rates. The number of rooms varies depending on which part of Bodas.net you read: one place says 18 and another 17, including doubles, triples and family rooms, with space for around 40 people depending on how they are shared. The figure needs confirming with the palace. The rooms have a bathroom with a hairdryer, heating, a telephone, satellite television and a safe. A promotion advertised in that directory includes a suite for the couple. The list of spaces also includes a car park, without saying how many spaces it has. The listing also states that the palace has access for people with disabilities.
Wet-weather plan
It rains often in Asturias, so it is worth knowing what is under cover. According to Bodas.net, the chapel is used for the religious ceremony, and the halls and the marquee for the reception meal. The same directory promotion includes the marquees at no cost, something to confirm in writing when booking. The pages do not explain what happens to a civil ceremony planned outdoors if the weather changes. You should ask which covered space it would be held in, how many people fit there and how far in advance the switch is decided.
Spots for photos
Evan and Natalia Simon have not photographed any wedding at this palace, so there are no photos of our own of the venue here. The pages consulted mention several spots that are useful for photos. The palace's website talks about the gardens of more than 3,000 square metres, the medieval wall and the views of the Picos de Europa. According to the Bodas.net listing, the terraces also look out onto those mountains, and the tower and the chapel from the 16th century complete the historic ensemble. None of those pages describes the façade in detail. The Bodas.net advert has 58 photos and 11 videos to give you an idea of the light and the space before your visit.
Contact and questions for your visit
The first point of contact is the website palaciodecutre.com, where the palace asks that specific enquiries be directed to its special events team. No specific telephone number or email address appears on the pages consulted. On your visit it is worth asking about the exact address and access, the real capacity of each hall and of the chapel, and the plan if it rains. You should also ask for the price and content of each menu, how the open bar is booked, what is charged if you do not reach 100 guests and how many rooms are still free for that date.
